"Heatwave"

Forget St. Tropez, Ibiza or the Costa del Sol.... Bournemouth is the new Sunspot capital of the world and Rob's Event Catering is at the heart of an industry trying to make every day at the beach a pleasure.

The heatwave, currently being enjoyed by thousands of families on holiday in Bournemouth has certainly challenged the firm in August. "We've broken every record going this year" said Rob Shearman "Ice creams, cold drinks and even hot meals have been snapped up as fast as we can provide them." He added.

But Rob isn't complaining. "Last year was OK. We spent an awful lot of money investing in our sites, promoting them and adding fresh ideas like beach barbeques and seafood offers. This year all that investment and effort has been rewarded with fantastic weather. Locals and tourists are flocking down and we are very proud of the fact that standards of service and customer care have kept up with the demand. I have a very dedicated group of staff who really have earned their money this year."

Another feature of this years progress is the appointment of a full time quality assurance manager for all the beach sites throughout the summer season. Rob Shearman says " We always take matters concerned with hygiene and safety very seriously. This year I decided to take it a step further by instructing a qualified catering specialist to float between sites as a constant reminder to us all that without the highest standards in place at all times we could not retain our position as the South's leading caterer, which I believe we have achieved. We never rest on our laurels. There's always room for improvement."
